Hmm, you're still young at 29, but I guess having kids means that you have to "grow up" a bit more?
As in, you can't be totally selfish and put yourself first, and things take more planning. I'm in my 30s and am probably more immature and carefree than a 29 year old mum, as I haven't had kids yet so can spontaneously book a holiday in term time, or have a hangover so bad that I can't barely function, spend all my money on myself etc. You can do that with kids I guess, but it's frowned upon!
I don't have kids either (although in my case, by choice).
What I do have, like most other adults, are responsibilities: a job (at senior level, so I have a team and an organisation that depend on me), a house, a partner, pets, an extended family, an aging parent, friends, laundry, food-shopping, 'life admin' etc.
If you enjoy sleeping under a roof, eating a few times a day and participating in society, then we ALL have shit to do. Childfree people don't have a magic 'get out of jail free' card.
