Any NHS workers here?

Sorry I'm shamelessly posting for traffic Blush

I'm just wondering if anyone knows when the NHS payrise that was agreed for 2021 will be actually paid? I read on a FB group that it would be paid from September backdated to April, but that might not be reliable info, and Google is no help!

Thanks Smile

My trust said it will be in September's wage

HildegardNightingale · 31/08/2021 09:53

It will be in Septembers pay. Looking forward to buying a Mars bar from it Grin.

Thank you both. I'm on mat leave so not in the office to find out about it. I imagine there's been emails about it. I wonder if I'll even be eligible on mat leave?!

@LoulaJ I've been back from mat leave for 2 months and heard nothing about it so it's possible just lack of communication (as ever).

I don't think you'll get it on mat leave because your maternity pay is based on what you earned in the qualifying period, before you went off. You will get in from your first day back though (sorry!).

Yes we've been told it's going to be in Septembers salary as well

Does anyone know if Bank staff are getting the increase?

LoulaJ · 31/08/2021 10:21

@Cakeandslippers

Just called my payroll dept (not sure why I didn't just think of doing this before I posted - baby brain 🤦🏼‍♀️😂). Apparently they are recalculating any mat leave pay too to include the pay increase and I will get it backdated to April. Obviously it will be a lower increase than I would get on my normal wage if I wasn't on mat leave, but I'll still get something apparently.

No idea, sorry...

No worries LoulaJ
Hope you get a decent amount.

Cakeandslippers · 31/08/2021 10:33

@LoulaJ oh wow that's great! Sadly for me, I was on no pay in April and May so I guess I miss out on a couple of months. Never mind, June onwards counts so at least it'll be a bit!

Cakeandslippers · 31/08/2021 10:34

@HesterLee if you're directly employed by the NHS on an Agenda for Change contract (i.e. not a doctor or dentist and not employed by an outsourcing company) then yes you will as it applies to all NHS AfC staff.

HesterLee · 31/08/2021 10:38

Thanks @Cakeandslippers - I am a nurse. I am employed by one NHS Trust hospital but zero hours contract.
