We had vague plans to stay in and order a takeaway. We have a 3yo and 4 month old. AIBU to have the takeaway and wine anyway?

YANBU, get enough for your lunch tomorrow too!

FTEngineerM · 29/08/2021 21:07

I would 🙋🏽‍♀️

FlyingPandas · 29/08/2021 21:07

Bloody hell YANBU at all. Have your takeaway and wine! And chocolate too whilst you’re at it!

Covidiom · 29/08/2021 21:08

@CanofCant you are an absolute genius!

@FlyingPandas he ate the last of the chocolate before he left. Should I LTB?

Haha, enjoy your night! If the kids are ok/ sleeping through then go for it!
I'm thinking now that I should partake in a glass of something lol

SukonthaM · 29/08/2021 21:14

Of course. Aren’t you annoyed he’s gone out on the piss instead of having a takeaway with you?

PollyBlue6 · 29/08/2021 21:15

More wine and takeaway for you.

liveforsummer · 29/08/2021 21:18

Goodness yes, do that. You might even enjoy it in more peace. Assuming him going out isn't a huge problem in the grand scheme as the takeaway and wine is your first concern?! All
the more for you I say!!

BigGooseyLucy · 29/08/2021 21:18

What takeaway are you going to have ?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 29/08/2021 21:20

Have a feast! What you going to buy?

Covidiom · 29/08/2021 21:22

@SukonthaM not really, it’s a rare occasion for him to be able to let his hair down (well metaphorical hair- he actually has no hair) and he’d 100% encourage me to do the same if I wanted to.

Covidiom · 29/08/2021 21:24

@BigGooseyLucy Chinese. It’s already winging its way towards me (I hope). Kung pao chicken, beef chow mein and special fried rice.

OP posts:
MinnieJackson · 29/08/2021 21:47

Any prawn crackers?

BigGooseyLucy · 29/08/2021 21:51

There'll be accusations of cool wifery if you're not careful!

In seriousness, I find this thread most refreshing Smile

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 29/08/2021 22:19

Absolutely have the wine and takeaway.

When I was married to shitty exh, I made the mistake of thinking I needed his permission / company to do those things. It’s been a whole new lease of life knowing that I don’t need that!

Covidiom · 29/08/2021 23:40

@MinnieJackson of course. The prawn crackers were the first thing I demolished

Covidiom · 29/08/2021 23:48

@ViciousJackdaw there was nothing cool wife about me earlier when I discovered he’d washed dd’s white dress with his jeans 😡 .. but I feel quite strongly that the carefree sense of fun and freedom that you have before you become a parent should still be allowed to be experienced on occasion. I would feel very trapped if I thought I could never have that again even if it is just for short periods. Also I have had all manner of drunken proclamations of love throughout the evening via WhatsApp.

I love this thread. How's his hangover? Nothing a leftover Chinese won't solve I hope.

Covidiom · 30/08/2021 10:13

He slept on the couch so he wouldn’t wake me up and woke up at 7 when the kids did full of excitement about the fun night he had. He actually brilliant on a hangover- he goes into overdrive cleaning and getting jobs done.. then he’ll crash mid afternoon on the sofa watching films with the kids. I can’t complain really!
