Lighthearted - and yes I have posted before about this.

He’s 19 and has been back for months due to the pandemic (yes it’s shit for them all).

He is veggie, I am not so we often cook separately. He went into the kitchen an hour ago and is still in there cooking (refuses to follow recipes and makes weird, random concoctions up usually involving onions, tinned tomatoes, a shit load of cheese and spaghetti). I asked how long he is going to be as I am starving and want to cook my dinner but he “got in there first” and has opened the new jar of something when there are 3 of the same thing already open. ARGH

I have given him a veggie cookbook and his sister (also a veggie) sends him recipes but he doesn’t listen and is costing me a fortune in cheese.

I feel like I am living in a HMO but am the oldest person paying the actual bills.

Also moans about me using stuff past it’s sell by date (I like to use my common sense - and Google, and not waste food).

That said he has eaten 3 pieces of flapjack I made today saying how lovely it it. The porridge oats went out of date in Jan 2020. Smile

Anyone else desperate for their little poppets to fuck off back to Uni?! 🤣

My daughter goes back on the 13th. She is also veggie but is no hassle at all. And she has been at work most of the holidays so not been too bad

Could you cook veggie meals for everyone? It isn't difficult to get veggie alternatives to meat options (Quorn and many other products). That way you wouldn't have the cooking issue that seems to bother you.

Will he now stay up really late gaming and shouting and laughing. Then bang doors when he goes to get a snack, brush teeth and go to bed? You have my sympathy.

I don’t understand this “can you cook veggie meals”.

I do not want to be vegetarian, I like to eat meat.

And Quorn is really expensive.
