Another thread this week about someone 's partner visiting a stripclub and the strong views were out. I used to work as a hen night stripper (male), part time while at uni and that was all considered acceptable AIBU to think why this double standard!?

@TheMarzipanDildo thank you for understanding and this is just a small snapshot of my experiences. For the most part it wasn’t an awful job at all but you meet a huge variety of people and the interactions are all very different. I’ll always support people’s choice to work in these sorts of industries. I have gone on to do well for myself as I was studying alongside working initially, and dancing helped me to afford that. It taught me a lot and I had some great experiences and made some friends I will have for life. I wouldn’t change what I did but I would like to try and change attitudes. Everyone deserves respect in the job they do even if it is seen as ‘wrong’ or degrading by some. I understand why people are uncomfortable with it, and it’s entirely a personal decision if you’d be happy for your partner to go to such places but trying to make a divide between the experiences of women and men in the same industry really isn’t clear cut and, in my opinion, stereotyping and generalising doesn’t help.

At uni we had a Male and female stripper freshers event.
The young attractive female stripper simulated sex and the guy she was doing it to was obviously turned on.
The old fat male stripper swung his penis around like a helicopter.

I think experiences like that, plus the fact that a lot of women are exploited and harassed etc etc while very few men are, may have something to do with it.

Also, I've never heard of a woman spending the last of the family money on a private dance in a back room because of 'peer pressure'.

Although I dont think most men would have a problem with a 'traditional' male stripper, I think most men would have a problem with their partner paying Dave in accounts to whip his cock out and rub it in their face, which is pretty much the equivalent
