Just reading another thread and lots of people are mentioning their hobbies (though not saying what they are)!

I want a (non sporting) hobby!

So please tell me about yours. I am pretty sociable so would like something that is sociable in nature. Only caveat is that I don't want to do a sport.

tia.

Mine is bonsai. Horticulture and art combined. I belong to several clubs and go to those meetings (it has been rather quiet over the last year or so but meetings are starting up again), there are always shows, exhibitions, sales and events on all over the country, and you get to meet some really interesting people.

Crafting - hand embroidery, knitting. Both have bi- monthly 'knit and natter' sessions which also involves cake.

Family history and genealogy- not that sociable but can be be when I attend information/ research events.

CaptainThe95thRifles · 27/08/2021 22:48

I'm about as antisocial as they come, so my (non sporting) hobbies are generally solitary. Latin, poetry, piano, trombone, playing with cars... Campanology is physical, but not a sport exactly and is sociable. Historical / archaeological societies? Life drawing?

My goodness you are all so brave. You do all know that listing hobbies is extremely outing 🤣🤣

Fwiw my non sporting interests include Brownies, knitting, reading, visiting churches/cathedrals, tarot cards, crystals and other such woo stuff.

I have other hobbies but they're more solitary.

Well! I did put paragraphs in my post but they've disappeared into one long sentence Hmm

SeoultoSeoul · 27/08/2021 23:45

I spend many many hours sat on my arse drinking coffee with various friends in cafes. I used to have lots of hobbies but now this is my main thing. Along with meeting friends for lunch. Grin

I like gardening, but more directing others if I'm honest "move that pot over there love".

Love art galleries and theatre.

PermanentTemporary · 27/08/2021 23:55

Book club

Art exhibitions, big time. Probably one of my major expenditures, and watch programmes and read about the artists etc.

Theatre. I've had a few of the greatest experiences of my life watching plays. I mostly aim to watch stuff I've never seen before in any form.

Merryoldgoat · 28/08/2021 00:02

Baking
Cake decorating

They’re very much reduced since kids but those are all hobbies I’ve had over the last 15 years.
