If you’ve lost your sense of smell?

How long did it take to come back? And did it all come back at once or was it gradual?

My baby is due in 2 months and I want to be able to sniff his little baby head but I can’t smell anything since catching covid a week ago Sad

i have heard zinc can be good for lost sense of smell, have a google and see what you can find.

I've lost my sense of smell several times when I've had a cold. It comes back after a fortnight or so.

Berniesknittedmittens · 26/08/2021 19:14

15 months and counting for me! I miss the smell of my children as well

Everley · 26/08/2021 19:14

I lost my sense of smell when I had Covid. It went about 4 days into having symptoms and it came back fully after about 10/14 days.

LaikO · 26/08/2021 19:15

It was around 6-8 weeks for me.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 26/08/2021 19:46

Mine was gone completely for about 2 weeks and then over the next month or so it came back. Not sure it's quite to where it was

SheABitSpicyToday · 26/08/2021 19:51

I dont mind it being gone while I’m pregnant, because my nose was over sensitive and I was being sick so much from various smells!

I'm 3 weeks post covid. I have started to get moments where I can occasionally smell certain things but I find a few hours later it's gone again. 😔 The doc told me its usually between 2 weeks to 2 months.
