To think some Mumsnetters accuse others of being dramatic to be unpleasant

I don’t mean where someone is clearly being dramatic, like AIBU to call the police because a dog looked at my twelve year old.

But sometimes it is used to try to shut people down. Like if someone is asking something calmly enough ‘AIBU to be a bit annoyed fil walked in without knocking’ and you get ‘YABU, stop being so dramatic.’

I’m seeing it more and more now and it’s annoying me!

OP don't be so dramatic Grin

'I can't get worked up about that'.

No one was getting 'worked up' in the first place ...

Gosh, OP. I’d love to have your life if this is classed as something that annoys you. HmmGrin

Yes! I would be inclined to reply something along the lines of.... 'you can't have much excitement in your life if you find that dramatic' Wink

Yes, it's a put down.

I posted about something that vaguely irritated me recently and someone posted something to the effect - can't remember what they actually said - that I sounded extremely stressed by it and implied that I was majorly over reacting.

There was absolutely nothing in my OP to indicate I was stressed or upset by the incident.

Likewise the 'if this is all you've got to worry about' responses. There were a lot of those during the covid lockdowns: people are dying and you're getting in a strew about something so trivial?

Some mumsnetters though, will look for lots of ways to shut people down or be nasty to other posters, is what they like to do.
