To have a poor view of men

I'll start by saying that I know there are plenty of lovely people in the world, including men and women. But over the past few years (I'm now 29) I've felt I have less and less respect for men (in general). It could be partly due to my background, as I grew up quite poor and didn't have many good male role models. Also, my dad was very physically violent and emotionally abusive towards me in my teen years before I left home.
I've had 2 long term relationships with men, which each ran their course as many relationships do. I wasn't upset at either of them ending (I ended both) and by the time each one was finished with, I felt I had a reduced respect for my ex partner. It's difficult to be sure as to why, as I think there are actually multiple reasons. If I had to sum it up I'd say I'm sexually attracted to men but the way a lot of them are in character is really off putting to me. Perhaps I have just not been able to be around my sort of people, I guess that it's also true that I haven't been as familiar with women as I haven't had a relationship with any.
Has anyone else here felt like this, and were you able to improve your view of men?
