For expecting a travel update today?

I thought today (25th of August) we were supposed to get a new travel update and confirm updates on green, amber and red countries? Is that no longer the case? Thinking of a last minute trip to Greece but don’t want to shoot myself on the foot 😳

I think it’s been Weds or Thurs historically

Usually Thursday isn't it and usually later in the day. Or maybe there are none this week.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 25/08/2021 13:46

It’s due either tonight or tomorrow but I agree OP, it’s all a bit quiet at the moment (I’m waiting on an announcement which I HOPE will mean in about 10 days I can see my family for the first time in about 2 years)

So so so many fingers crossed

The last one was announced at about 11pm on a Wednesday night!

DazedandConcerned · 25/08/2021 13:48

Greece is unlikely to change from amber as the case numbers are falling.

I got back from Rhodes last week and had a fab time. It’s worth the time bit of extra work to get out there.

Ah thanks everyone. I’ll keep an eye on the news. I thought it used to be on Wednesdays … who knows tho 😅

Still no update 🙄

Updates always seem to have been announced late in the day. The charitable view is that there has been a long discussion/debate, though I have my doubts. The uncharitable view is that it is so it is not the headline on early evening news, or the shorter the notice the more money airlines can make from high prices for those seeking to return early.
