To ask for no VPL full briefs that actually work on big bums!?!

I'm having a slight meltdown. I wear lots of high waisted trousers and you can see my knicker line in all of them. I've tried about 10 differing brands of "no-VPL" briefs and none of them work! I've resorted to wearing long cardigans to hide my bum and I just feel so self conscious.

Any recommendations for full briefs, preferably high waisted, that don't show any lines and stay put please? Or different styles I should be trying? I'm at my wits end!!

P.s I have a very round bum!

I'm afraid I don't have any pants suggestions for you OP. A friend and I were saying just a week or two ago that we hadn't heard anyone stressing about a VPL since the 00s and we had both just assumed people were choosing pants they liked best over the most invisible ones. I'm of the opinion that it's no secret that I wear pants! Smile

No help but watching with interest! It’s a right nuisance

MrsTulipTattsyrup · 25/08/2021 13:43

Can you try shorts style? Even the ones like I use to stop chub rub under dresses? M&S do cycling shorts style knickers which are sleek and have a leg, so no line to show under your trousers.

One other thought - are your trousers actually too small for you and that’s why they show? If they’re tight enough to show your pants through when you’re standing or walking, unless they’re stretch, how do you manage to sit down comfortably in them?

I find these good. Stay where you want them and line free. Hope the link works!

Uniqlo do a nice range with no VPL

user1479289699 · 26/08/2021 15:32

Thanks everyone. I've tried chub rub shorts and you can usually see where they cut off in most plain trousers when you bend your legs.

I'm going to order those flexifit m&s ones, didn't even think to look at boux avenue or uniqlo!

try sloggi double comfort shorts. I find them brilliant and dont show any vpl under gym leggings. I also have a big round bum btw
These are quite expensive I think for one pair of pants but they are sturdy and comfortable and almost like gym knickers, so they are good for both not giving VPL, but also stop a bit of the wobble. I like them under dresses too when you dont want anything small or flimsy

My other go to are these
www.marksandspencer.com/5-pack-no-vpl-microfibre-high-rise-full-briefs/p/clp22077675#P22077642#Matching_Item

Someone else above recommended the flexifit ones but I find they ride up, maybe due to the shape of my bum, but the microfibre ones in the multipack stay put really well and have excellent arse coverage and you barely feel them

Branleuse · 26/08/2021 16:47

btw, those sloggis that i just linked to, I recommend going up a size

Tiredmum122 · 26/08/2021 17:08

Why not just wear Thongs?

noworklifebalance · 26/08/2021 17:15

I got mine some time back - think they were these one but just a black set.

Try going up a size. There is less “in and out” ness

Wandawide · 26/08/2021 17:46

The Sloggi are better imo because the end of the leg is horizontal not diagonal across ones buttock.
Also try Damart.
The grey/blue M&S. I like the line of the bra, it looks deep for support but the fastening is lower. Anyone any experience?

Spodge · 26/08/2021 17:48

I wear pants from the Sloggi zero ranges. They are invisible under trousers and you would have to be looking very carefully to see any sort of VPL even under my tight gym leggings.

MrsTulipTattsyrup · 26/08/2021 18:04

@Tiredmum122

Why not just wear Thongs?
Because underwear shouldn’t resemble cheesewire and threaten to cleft you in twain up the middle.
Guineapigbridge · 26/08/2021 18:05

Go up a size

Suprima · 26/08/2021 18:09

I also second the thong poster.

A correctly sized, seamless, cotton thong will solve the VPL issue and be much more comfortable than full knickers that shift around. Amazon’s Iris and Lily brand are very good.

CampaignToo · 26/08/2021 18:25

I have tried them all over they years and discovered fairly recently that the answer is very straightforward - cotton shorts style knickers but you must size up. It's been a revelation to me, you just need to make sure the pants don't dig in.

theyre always so low waisted though arent they. They need more coverage. A lot of the shorts style, when they go up in size they just get wider but not taller and you end up seeing my arse crack
