My 11 month old has covid. He is roasting hot how long should I let a temp go on for?

I'm going to phone nhs 24 just now but it's just me and the kids I don't know who could watch them since we are all positive. Does anyone know when I should. His temp has been since about 8 last night and gone down a tiny bit today but now back up

Are you giving paracetamol?

shouldistop · 24/08/2021 22:01

Is it going down with medication? Paracetamol and ibuprofen alternated? Keep a careful note of time of doses to ensure you don't give too much.
Don't sponge him down, dress him lightly.
Is he eating / drinking?

How high is the temperature?

If he is showing signs of being uncomfortable I would give some calpol. Keep him in loose cool clothes or just a nappy.

If you have a fan you can use that to cool the air around him but not directly on him.

Hope he is ok
