I have just been given a replacement hire care whilst mine is being repaired, and it is fully electric.
I am travelling up to North Yorkshire in a couple of days (from the South East).

I can only charge it up at home via a cable through an open window and into a house plug. Not ideal, but hey ho.
I have google how to use charging points but am still confused.

Do I need to sign up to a specific app to use these? Can I use any 'brand' of charging station?
What is the best planning tool for a long journey?
Any tips???

Download the app Zap Map.

It tells you all the charging points.

Some chargers you will need a special card to use.

Most you can just pay contactless.

You need to work out what kind of connector your car needs.

What car are you getting?

Does it not come with a proper car charging cable (not a house plug one?)

If you go on InstaVolt's website you can find their rapid chargers. No need for an app or subscription, they just have a touchscreen and a contactless payment at the actual place and you can charge very quickly.

I have two cables, one goes into a standard house plug, and the other is a easy duty plug both ends.

A better route planner is also useful for planning your journey and charging. I would think you could use most chargers except the Tesla superchargers. Make sure you find the higher power ones for stops on the journey.

So, can I just park up and plug into any charger? I assume I can't use Tesla chargers?

Ah, Thanks Dynamo, cann't believe I didn't find that.

One last question please, If a chargingg point says you can pay by mobile, does that mean you can use apple pay??
