Yes, it does on my iPhone.
Speaking of which, I fairly recently found out that if you hold the spacebar down, it’s easier to select and edit text.

I don't think it always did this so you aren't that late! The calendar icon hasn't always been today's date either.

I only noticed it a few months ago when I saw the clock hand moved. I was so surprised I WhatsApp my whole family to let them know!
