If you’ve worked as an EA/PA previously what area did you move into after?

If you worked as an EA or a PA and moved into a different work sector what did you move into?

I love my role as an EA, I’ve been in it for around 2 years but I do wonder how to move into another area further down the line?

Anyone have any thoughts?

I was a PA for a few years, I now work in Communications/Events and I’m completing a project management qualification.

A lot of the skills from being a PA are really transferable, there’s loads of careers you can follow if you want to move into something new Smile

Following with interest -
Currently a PA and thought of entering HR but tbh I’d have to go backwards pay wise for a long while whilst qualifying and building experience

My friend who did this moved up the ladder and into different roles which were more demanding within advertising/marketing/clientside companies then moved out to diff companies climbing and learning as she went.
She now works for a very high profile / senior person at a global company/brand. She is pretty much the no 2 and makes serious cash (6 figure territory)
She doesn't do much booking /organising meetings (she has a team for that) but leads conf organization / high profile int/ext events, some PR bits and is involved in the business too
Ultimately she wants to be c suite and is well on track.
I would say this is a less usual route as reaching c suite is hard! But she is crazy smart and a hard worker

I was a PA until 4 years ago and went into a facilities management role, now im a sort of HR / FM hybrid with a lot of project management focussed work.
