Find me a holiday

AIBU to ask for your help to find a short break holiday booking for the long weekend?

The UK seems to be fully booked (!!)...

Last minute change left us with no plans for the bank holiday, and I'll be gutted to stay at home😵‍💫. This was going to be our only holiday this summer... in fact, thanks to COVID.. this year!

I am only asking for 3-4 days of relaxation at a reasonable price...
When: 27-30th
Up to 6 hrs drive from London preferable. Where: Devon, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire or anywhere close to a nice beach or a place with a pool. (Can be a lovely hotel too).
4 people all together.
Price: reasonable!

I am reaching out to anyone out there who may had to cancel last minute, and need someone to take over their booking... or if you are hotel/property owner, and got cancelled on, please get in touch.

🙏🙏🙏

I think you're going to need to be more specific; "reasonable " is highly subjective. For different people that could be anything from £250 to £5k

Pop into a travel agency tomorrow.

Forget Devon/cornwall/Pembrokeshire - it’s all been booked up for months.

Go north. Northumberland is beautiful.

Fizzorgin · 22/08/2021 23:54

I suspect a site like booking.com may be your best bet. However your price range of 'reasonable' depends on your interpretation of it tbh - we've literally just come back from a 3 night break on the IOW which was c£400 for the b&b plus ferry but on a quick check just now at this late stage you're looking at £1200 plus for a similar but not as well rated b&b/hotel..........

Chester Doubletree by Hilton has availability for those nights £1311 for all of you. Lots to do in Chester. Smile

You poor thing.

No one can find you one that you can't find yourself.

You'll have to look for somewhere less popular.

I just looked on Secret Escapes. They have one deal… its in Inverness, but that could be an adventure!

KentuckyCriedFricken · 23/08/2021 02:36

I’ve just seen a cottage in rural Dorset on Air BnB for around 500 quid for 3 nights. To me that’s reasonable. But it depends what you call reasonable.

What the OP is asking is, is there anyone who is having to cancel last minute due to Covid.

There may well be people in the next few days who test positive and have to cancel. However, you will need to be flexible and not have your heart set on one place. Personally, if I only had 3/4 days, I wouldn't want a 6 hour drive each way. So I'd probably jump at anything that's 2-3 hours drive away.

I hope you find somewhere. But if you don't, being at home is not the end of the world if you go out every day and do things you wouldn't normally do.

If you can fly, Jersey or Guernsey, have you looked at the Isle of Wight?
