Has anyone stayed anywhere cool? Usual suspects are there of course but just stumbled across a funky looking one called Q something and it got me thinking that I need an actual recommendation
Anyone? Cool rooms and funky win over pool or spa but those would also be a plus

Whitworth Locke is fab. No pool but a funky interior, great location, excellent facilities and decent pricing.

CorrBlimeyGG · 22/08/2021 18:07

The Stock Exchange is beautiful.

The Gotham or the Brooklyn are cool.

The Lowry has a spa, but is not as good as it used to be.

MaverickDanger · 22/08/2021 18:08

Dakota & Cow Hollow are meant to be cool.

King Street Townhouse has an amazing infinity pool with incredible views.

Ihaveattached · 22/08/2021 18:09

The Kimpton Clock tower definitely meets your brief. The restaurant is fab too and the bar. No pool but there is a gym.

CharlotteRose90 · 22/08/2021 18:09

Oo Dakota or the Gotham for sure. Best hotels in Manchester.

imsureineverdo · 22/08/2021 18:09

The Gotham or Abel Haywood?

gwilt · 22/08/2021 18:11

If you're willing to stay a little outside the centre, Didsbury House Hotel is lovely.

My friends just stayed at The Gotham and also said it was amazing.

superram · 22/08/2021 18:11

We liked the Dakota but actually the pool and gym in the radisson on Edwardian was great and we probably preferred it and £100 cheaper.

polkadotpjs · 22/08/2021 20:51

No availability in a few of those 😩
Radisson looks lush but £300?! Can't justify that sadly

Radisson Blu Edwardian is amazing and has a great bar. DH and I had a great stay there, fab breakfast too.

PurpleFlower1983 · 22/08/2021 20:54

Sorry just seen it’s a bit on the pricey side!!

DuckDuckGooses · 22/08/2021 21:04

Gotham is amazing! Stayed several times, the rooms are all super funky and cool. King Street Townhouse is lovely, wouldn't say funky but classy and lovely. Dakota is lovely as well!

KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 22/08/2021 22:30

Native on Ducie Street - funky warehouse conversion with big rooms.

ChiefAdjusterOfRubensShorts · 22/08/2021 22:38

Cow Hollow, Dakota or Gotham

Councilworker · 22/08/2021 22:48

When are you planning on going?
Qbic is a converted office block building on the corner of Deansgate but if you're at the end of town I'd probably opt for the King Street Townhouse. The view from the pool might be slightly marred as the town hall is covered in scaffolding at the moment.

polkadotpjs · 23/08/2021 10:57

Middle of September is the plan

Not sure if it’s open yet but Brewdog are having a hotel in Manchester if he likes his craft beer!

scarpa · 23/08/2021 18:25

The Midland? Just had a massive renovation so it's gorgeous inside and outside, and there's a spa :)

scarpa · 23/08/2021 18:28

Agree on Native - v nice

The Hilton is obviously 'just' a Hilton, but it's also in Beetham tower so AMAZING views

mrsmoppp · 23/08/2021 18:32

The Hilton is ok but what does it for me is paying for the executive rooms. Free drinks and canapés from the 23rd floor

Coldilox · 23/08/2021 18:34

Gotham is the best hotel I’ve stayed in in Manchester.

Or the Great John Street Hotel.

I’ve stayed at the Dakota in Leeds and that was fab, they’ve recently opened one in Manchester.

FartleBarfle · 23/08/2021 18:39

Oh I love Manchester and have stayed for weekends many times! Was at the Lowry last year which was a good deal I got including dinner and breakfast.

A couple years ago we stayed at the Hotel Indigo near Victoria Station. It was another deal but we thought the hotel and the room and the location were absolutely beautiful, right next to Victoria Station in the centre. If I was booking for a nice weekend now I'd book there as it was totally affordable compared to some of the nice but expensive options. Best value for sure!

Have a great weekend! You cant go wrong up there!

Keep watching the Radisson Blu on booking.com as prices have fluctuated previously. As someone else has mention the Brew Dog hotel looks quite something - fridges in the shower, draft available in your room.

Hilton has offered packages including a meal might be worth checking as the views are great.

Abode is very 70s just off Piccadilly and there is also a MacDonald hotel and spa by the train station.

Favouriteworstnightmare · 23/08/2021 19:46

An alternative is a premier inn but then book in for a bottomless brunch somewhere like the alchemist and dinner at the Ivy?

TangledTrees · 23/08/2021 19:49

Cow Hollow has a very cool looking bar and rooms.
