I'm a massive fan of my mooncup, and I wear it not only for my period, but also during ovulation.

I obvs wash it etc at regular intervals, and take it out if the, ahem.. situation requires it, but other than that, I like how clean it keeps me and my underwear feeling.

Does anyone else do this?

Yes - what a great idea!
No - get in the bin, you minger!

I'm not sure it's good for you to wear it all of the time.

Can you get TSS from it, even if you're rinsing it?.should you sterilise it occasionally?

These are things I don't know, more musing aloud...

I also love mine, but I couldn't be arsed with the faff of having it ALL the time. But it won't do you any harm, so if you like it then crack on!

I have never used one and really don't fancy it but can any harm come of wearing one other than when having a period?

bonbonours · 20/08/2021 13:38

Pretty sure it does no harm, you can't get TSS from it. I've never felt the need to do this but I did use to wear it a couple of days before my period started to avoid messy surprises.

Why on earth would you wear one when ovulating? It seems like madness keeping something inside your vagina when there is absolutely no need to

Because it's great at catching discharge as well as blood...

I would wear it in the run up to period so I was always covered lol. I know what you mean about the clean feeling but it’s good to have a break and to breathe!

Wynturphelle · 20/08/2021 14:48

I've used my mooncup for the couple of days of ovulation for the same reasons. It's made of medical grade silicon and surely not that much of a problem if washed out regularly?

DiscoDown21 · 20/08/2021 14:52

Isnt discharge supposed to come down the vagina though to help keep it clean/balance the PH?
