To not understand funding??

My little one is due to start nursery in November. She has been approved for some funding
From the local council due to SEN needs. The nursery have confirmed how much funding will be available but I'm wondering if someone can explain how this works?
Obviously we are expecting to be paying for her nursery fees until April next year when she turns 3 and gets her free hours. But now I'm confused about this funding, does this mean we pay less or is that funding just additional money to the nursery?

Usually it's to provide additional staffing. So you will pay the same.

Is it FEET funding?

It will be additional funding for nursery. Unless in receipt of dla and then they get 15 hours entitlement at 2.

FEET funding would reduce your costs.

I think this can differ depending on what area you live in so it might be worth seeing if there is a local parent Facebook group or local aprent carer forum or if you can find one. In our area children can qualify for a free nursery place from aged 2 if they have a disability, not sure if they need to have DLA or not. The nursery will be given extra funding to give extra support like using speech therapy techniques and helping with gross and fine motor skills. Choose the nursery carefully and be prepared to move if it isn't right. We have had some really bad and really good places.
