Negative test

At a friends birthday dinner the other night (Saturday) so it’s been almost a week. 5 of us all together and on Tuesday the other 4 tested positive for Covid. I did a rapid test at home it was negative but I booked a drive in test to be safe and again negative. Iv no symptoms at all and I’m double vaccinated. Under new rules I don’t have to isolate. Iv a long awaited appointment for my ds this coming Monday and some family telling me I should still isolate and rearrange the appointment, if I do we are looking at another 6 week wait minimal for a new appointment which in turn leaves him longer waiting for help he should be getting (asd appointment) aibu or not for going ahead with appointment. Honestly with rules changing all the time I’m not 100% sure if I have to isolate or not. I did rapid tests on both dc and both negative aswell

Keep the appointment and do a rapid test on you all, before you go.

Could someone else take him to the appointment?

Is it something medical? If it’s something like a haematology or rheumatology appointment where many other attendees will be CEV then I would seriously think about rearranging, but if not I think I’d probably go ahead if necessary.

If you have to go to the appointment - daily rapid tests over the weekend. Wear a really good mask and keep your distance, gel your hands, ask them to open a window if not already well-ventilated.

The rules are that you don't have to isolate because you're double jabbed and you haven't tested positive.

Pissinthepottyplease · 19/08/2021 20:45

I’m sure you would only have had to isolate anyway if your friends developed symptoms within 48 hours of seeing you - I’m unsure if that’s the case from your message?

I'd be tempted to take another pcr Saturday and then rapid monday morning

pinkappleorpineapple · 19/08/2021 20:46

Keep the appointment, you're not required to isolate and 6 weeks night be optimistic for rescheduling.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 19/08/2021 20:49

Can someone else take him? Too late now but I’d have been very wary over socialising if important medical appointments were coming up. Not only because of missing them but because there could be CEV people there.

No one else is available to take him. On the letter it states to ring when outside and they will call us in for the appointment. Il definitely do a few more rapid tests before appointment as 6 weeks is a minimum date for a new app and iv waited almost 3 years for this one. Just wanted an outside opinion but I’m thinking I might ring the clinic in the morning also see what they say and hopefully I’m hold to bring him in on the day. Thank you everyone
