Festival shambles what would you do?

Booked a while ago to go onto an activity filled family festival with the cost of the activities included in the price.
Gets closer to the date and they announce we have to enroll in advance on the activities.
The enrollment page doesn't work for me and I email them. They reply saying it does work. I reply again saying no it doesn't with a screenshot of the page it leads me to (it definitely doesn't). Have read on their Instagram lots of other people saying the same thing. Other people are saying the activities are mostly full now. They have other things going on like a water slide (forecast due to rain all weekend) and a wellness tent which isn't fully booked. When buying the ticket the company didn't say that activities would be limited availability. They've also said my ticket isn't showing on their system and the free baby ticket I added to my purchase for my toddler, isn't showing up either on my confirmation email, so I'm anticipating possible confusion at the entrance gates. Should I still go and just soak up atmosphere or demand a refund for not being able to do activities and no response from organisers to sort it out.
Basically an I being unreasonable to be really annoyed? I don't have a lot of money I forked out with my savings as something good to look forward to, to make up for lockdown with my DD.

Get a refund

Peppapigforlife · 19/08/2021 14:02

@Doomscrolling any idea how i would do it? Their website has a no refund policy or shall I go via ombudsman?

Contact the company by email initially.

You can demonstrate it was their faulty system that meant you couldn’t book onto appropriate activities, and they didn’t issue your toddlers ticket either. As such, your ticket is not fit for purpose and you’d like a refund in full. It’s their error (not showing up on the booking system) so they must either book you onto the activities you requested (by increasing capacity by one) or refund the cost.

Okay thank you for your time, I really appreciate it. I'll try that and see what they say.

Did you happen to book via a credit card? As if you want a refund and they refuse you could also go via the credit card provider as they are unable to deliver the product as originally advertised at point of purchase

Peppapigforlife · 19/08/2021 16:06

Unfortunately I didn't as I didn't have a credit card at that point. A good lesson for me though!

Just as an update, they eventually got back to me and said it would work from a laptop. İ still can't book my toddler's free ticket on but hopefully that will get sorted before I get there tomorrow.
