8?

purplesequins · 19/08/2021 11:54

1 teaspoon makes awfully weak coffee. or are you talking instant?
3 mugs of coffee a day here. any more and sleep is out the window.

ohtobeinengland · 19/08/2021 11:55

I have 2-4 per day but cut off time is late lunch otherwise I would never sleep

lastqueenofscotland · 19/08/2021 11:56

I have two a day both early
If I touch caffeine after noon it screws me over which is sad as I love fizzy drinks too

ChainJane · 19/08/2021 11:58

Depends on the brand. Usually one teaspoon per cup of instant, some brands suggest two. WFH most days I don't have any, when in the office I try to limit it to six or seven cups.

Shirleyphallus · 19/08/2021 12:00

I’m just here for the arguments of instant coffee being rank and certain MNers only grinding their own beans and drinking the rarest coffee the world has and anything else is DISCUSTING

Anordinarymum · 19/08/2021 12:02

It's not the amount it's the coffee itself.

Nescafe is a bastard, Always rude and in your face
Duowe Eggberts.. Thinks he's better than the rest
Gold Blend... smarmy
Supermarkets own.. no manners
And as for the beans..................... well.. I have no words :)

purplesequins · 19/08/2021 12:04

imo instant coffee is fine. it taste different to coffee brewed from grounds beans.

bitter espresso however...bleurgh

topcat2014 · 19/08/2021 12:09

On the hour every hour for me is fine!

SuffolkPunch27 · 19/08/2021 12:10

Wait.....there's a thing as too much coffee???? ConfusedGrin

MintyGreenDream · 19/08/2021 12:13

I have a heaped dessert spoon in a travel mug

Words · 19/08/2021 12:14

Two or three cafetières per day here. So four or six heaped tablespoons of ground coffee.
Don't drink coffee in the afternoon. No issues sleeping.

Fernando072020 · 19/08/2021 12:16

I have 3 a day, all before 4pm. Anything after screws up my sleep

Honestmary · 19/08/2021 12:18

No such thing as too much coffee, now go wash your mouth out with soap and water!

Anordinarymum · 19/08/2021 12:28

Tea anybody ???

No?

Oh well then...

pangolina · 19/08/2021 12:32

I have an absolute maximum of 2 a day (and that's only if I've started work at 5:30am) and they have to be by midday or I can't sleep. Green tea, on the other hand...

OnCallAgain · 19/08/2021 12:33

It’s that smarmy bastard Egburt. I occasionally realise I only drink water when mixed with coffee. I’m a bit twitchy but absolutely fine Confused

ToykotoLosAngeles · 19/08/2021 12:34

I have 2 at work from the posh beaner machiner. Plus maybe 3 teas.

When at home I normally have 1 Nespresso and several teas.

zingally · 19/08/2021 13:20

If at work, it's an absolute maximum of 3 a day. At home it's 1, or very occasionally 2.

PrancerandDancer · 19/08/2021 13:26

Dare I say it... Percol do a nice instant decaf.
We have a nice (completely overkill but amazing) barista machine so I have one of these at 11 then on to decaf. Also found PG Tips Decaf is very nice. Not Tetley though though. That's the worst.

MinnieMountain · 19/08/2021 13:31

Whatever doesn’t send you twitchy or stop you sleeping is fine.

I have 3-4 cups per day, no later than 2:30pm. Otherwise I find myself lying awake at midnight swearing off coffee (which never happens).

OneTC · 19/08/2021 13:33

I only have one a day, and a strict rule for never after 3pm unless I'm going out

orangejuicer · 19/08/2021 13:33

Max 2 cups a day plus a couple of tea. Anything else and I'm in trouble.

magicstar1 · 19/08/2021 13:39

I have one or two. My old boss would have over twenty cups during the working day. He never walked anywhere....he ran, even if it was just across the office. I've never met anyone so hyper and jittery, but he loved it.

MereDintofPandiculation · 19/08/2021 13:40

1 teaspoon makes awfully weak coffee. or are you talking instant? 1 teaspoon instant makes awfully weak awful coffee.

Instant isn't awful, but I've always assumed one spoonful is for a cup. A mug needs at least 1.5
