I don't mind killing people, but hunting makes me uncomfortable. Or shooting/stabbing horses.
Do i have my moral values all twisted up?

I like how in some games its just not possible to harm animals.

Can you give examples?

If it upsets you that much you should probably just avoid those games.
It's not animal cruelty - it's using a weapon on a cartoon.

Minecraft I always thought was awful, you can kill, set fire etc to animals and this game is aimed at children. When mine were young and into video games I was appalled at some of the things you could do. I ended up blocking the game as a result

Farcy5 is very bad for animals

My DD cares for her Minecraft animals, she feeds them and gives them names. She is not a cruel child so she would not find being cruel to them acceptable, but she does sometimes have to sacrifice them to get the food she needs to survive in her game.
Just like real life!

To be fair FarCry 5 is very bad for humans too! I think any game that normalises gun violence is not a good influence on kids, especially in the USA where guns are everywhere.

Most games give you the option to be kind to the animals. Far Cry (especially the later ones in the series) is obviously known for being a hunting game and gives you hunting missions/side missions, so it's a bit of a random choice of game for animal lovers, but you don't have to do them. Most animals can be avoided or scared away rather than killed.
Even games like Minecraft you have the ability to grow crops to eat. I never even realised you could set fire to the animals in MC, never would have occured to me to try.
Older Zelda games punish you for killing animals for no reason. If you strike a chicken, a horde of angry chickens descend from the sky in a pecking frenzy.

Agree with you OP. While playing Woodoku I keep seeing ads for a Wild West quick on the draw type game where you get points for wounding or killing your opponent. I don’t like it.
