DD going into YR9 - had the usual summer growth spurt so needing new trousers.
Uniform requirements are - Black, non stretchy, not skinny fit, long enough to cover ankles.

What they really want you to buy are a specific brand at £26 per pair!!! Absolutely no way. So find the right kind in Asda - sold out (including online) in the correct size. They still have 3 weeks of holidays left fgs.
M & S seemed to have the right sort. 2 pairs ordered, only 1 delivered and now they are also sold out.
Tesco, Sainsburys no joy. New Look too fashionable! Have looked all the sensibly priced places I can think of and all are Out of Stock!!
Surely its not unreasonable to think not everyone does uniform shopping in the first 2 weeks of the holidays and how can it be unreasonable to expect stores like Asda to have replenishable supplies!

Do the trousers at least have pockets? At my daughter's school the trousers for boys have pockets and the trousers for girls do not. F... ridiculous!

You have 1 pair now right? So just wait until they come back into stock to order another?

Have you tried Next? Managed to get some for my DD there last week. Similar uniform requirements! Hmm

Would age 13 fit? Matalan have these:

The M&S ones are the ones we ordered and only 1 pair arrived. Unfortunately the Matalan ones are the wrong shape.

Why do parents put up with this shit? There's no way I'd be spending my summer trying to source a pair of trousers that would meet with the approval of the school, let alone pay £26 for a pair.
My daughter's about to start secondary, so we popped into the school and they brought out a load of hoodies / polo shirts / pe kit from their 2nd hand collection. We took what we needed and had to be quite forceful about handing over a tenner. That was our uniform shopping done. She'll wear whichever shoes and jeans she wants, because the school is not ridiculous, and values positive relationships and happy kids over mindless conformity and petty rules.
