Would this be a good idea?

DS supports a team in the premier league as has been asking DH to take him to a football match etc, the issue is we suspect DS is autistic and he hates places with a lot of people, but DS has been asking more and more recently. DH had the idea of taking DS to a smaller stadium first that is very close to us as there’ll be less people than there would with a premier league team, but I'm just wondering what everyone else thought of this, would this be a good idea?

Yes. Small local teams don't draw big crowds so he could start there and move up.

Surely it depends on whether he’d be equally happy to watch Local FC rather than his PL team?

Is your husband your son's father?

Yes a smaller game would be a good idea.

@choli

Is your husband your son's father?
What's that got to do with anything?

Is the team his special interest? If so he might zone out all the stuff that usually bothers him and focus on the game, players etc. And enjoy himself.

How old is he? I'm wondering if you could talk to him about it and show him some videos on YouTube from a crowd perspective to prepare him for what it's like.

Other than that I wonder if the ground makes any allowances? Early arrival? Less crowded seating? Maybe worth investigating.

I'm just thinking if his interest is the team rather than the game then a trip to see a local team might not cut the mustard!
