To openly fancy a celeb that's opposite to dh

Been married 15 years, never hidden the fact I like a certain actor (won't say whom well known but not a "heartthrob". Anyway it's always been a running joke - you love x etc
Tonight husband said you are obviously obsessed with him and I don't look like him so how do you fancy me.
Surely types can vary? My go to is tall and dark featured big build my crush is average height and blue eyed.

Honestly think dh is being ridiculous to be jealous I fancied crush When younger but not now he is an older man

My god my dh has two to put with, I’ve always had crushes, right from 13 I’m not going to stop tell him jog on, I bet he has women on tv or films he likes.

Just how much are you mentioning him for your DH to say you're obsessed?

mrsmalcolmreynolds · 17/08/2021 23:15

YANBU. DH and I are both mousy-haired/dark blonde but top of our respective celeb crush lists are Christian Bale and Liv Tyler Grin. Interestingly though top of the "if I were twenty years older lists are Jeff Bridges and Kathleen Turner, much more the type we each are in reality.

So in short - it means absolutely nothing!

SequinsandStiIettos · 17/08/2021 23:19

Nah, it means nothing.
Unless like Paula Yates, you have his photo on your fridge and a job where you might be able to meet on a bed...
I have different slebs on my fantasy shag list rather than a long term obsession. None look like each other, let alone partners and vice versa. You must be going on about him a lot for yours to be Envy
Do you have their photo on a pillow case yet?! Wink
Also YABU not to reveal who your sleb crush is. There should be a hard rule to post a decent photo like there is diagram rule on the parking threads...

TheCatsHaveEyes · 17/08/2021 23:21

You may have a point there Mrs dh crush for years was Louise nurding/rednapp being blonde petite fair I'm more darker curvy busty

Sequin I will happily disclose celeb crush via pm but not in the open forum through fear of sidebar of shame and a niche and outing crush

I fancy women as well so they are the complete opposite to my husband, he doesn't feel threatened Grin
Although I don't go on about anyone else I fancy to be honest. He knows I like Johnny Depp and Gerard Butler who look nothing like him lol

SequinsandStiIettos · 17/08/2021 23:42

Oh lordy If it's a politician I'm better off not knowing! Grin
What you need OP are crushes who are gay irl e.g. Andrew Scott, Luke Evans.
Who else have I been googling of late?
Robbie Amell, Colin Farrell, a young Till Lindemann
Robbie looks so much like a young Tom Cruise, I am amazed he's never been cast as his son in something.

@TheCatsHaveEyes

Been married 15 years, never hidden the fact I like a certain actor (won't say whom well known but not a "heartthrob". Anyway it's always been a running joke - you love x etc Tonight husband said you are obviously obsessed with him and I don't look like him so how do you fancy me. Surely types can vary? Most people fancy celebs, often not at all the type they'd want IRL and based purely on looks. But to what extent have you got mentionitis? You say it's a running joke, but how often is it talked about? It could be that your DH is now tired of it and it isn't a joke any more.

Is he feeling sensitive about his body/looks as he's getting older? (the 'how do you fancy me?' comment - how did you answer him? If a woman posted on here, fed up and saying that her DH/DP never shut up about a female celeb and how gorgeous she is, I think at least she'd be told that he should keep his thoughts to himself.

SequinsandStiIettos · 17/08/2021 23:46

The answer to the 'How do you fancy me?' is easy enough.
'Over there, shirt off' Wink or my personal favourite
'Pathetically grateful' Grin

brittleheadgirl · 17/08/2021 23:47

My celeb crush predates dh by 2 decades, so he's just part of our relationship Grin
Dh also says I should 'go for it' if I ever get the chance to get busy with my crush and that he will overlook it just the once!!
