Nervous about seeing his family.

Hey all. Name changed. Probably be told I'm being unreasonable but covid makes me anxious. I know we are meant to be back to 'normal' now. But me, dp and dc are still being cautious. I care for my vulnerable grandma who is double jabbed (as am I) but still nervous. Dp has only had his second jab just this week, 8 weeks from his first.

We live in Cornwall. Where it's so damn busy it's inevitable we will probably get covid at one point anyway....

We are meant to be meeting up with dp's sisters and his mum for lunch this week (at dp's mums house, not out anywhere). His sisters are quite young and have attended boardmasters over the weekend. Cases in Newquay are through the roof anyway, 53 odd thousand people attended boardmasters and cases are going to get higher. So many people have come home from Boardmasters and have reported testing positive (all over social media). It's inevitable. I live near Newquay but in one of the quiet surrounding villages and we are avoiding the town as much as poss.

So naturally I'm a little anxious about seeing his siblings. They were there all weekend. It's a lot of people.

I don't want to be an ass. I'm thinking maybe we insist on staying outside and no close contact? Ie no hugging the kids etc.

To add, I've got an important app soon and don't want to catch covid myself and have it cancelled 😢
