I work for myself. A small part of my job is presenting. One of my clients has suggested a way to make the presenting part of my job more professional and efficient by using PowerPoint. This makes sense and I completely agree. I am fine using PowerPoint it’s a straightforward package.

However my presentation will include snippets of audio files maybe from iTunes or YouTube and also stuff from new Apps I hadn’t heard of (that client suggested). I am completely lost. I’m not in any way a technical person. I really wanted to do this as my clients suggestions are really sound and make sense and would enhance my performance for other clients. Also I would get a personal sense of achievement because I am a bit of a dinosaur with technology and wish I had these skills.

I have spent hours today trying to sync my iPad (with all my audio files and iTunes) with my iMac (which has PowerPoint and the correct ports to put my presentations on to a memory stick to take to work). I can’t do it. I don’t know how to do it and there is nobody I can ask.

I have googled and looked on YouTube and still can’t do it. Do I just accept that I am stupid? What would you do?

Can you save everything to icloud and then access it on your imac from there? And surely if you login to itunes on your mac your ipad content will be there too?

First, you're not stupid!!

I'm not good with tech stuff either so I'd start with seeing if I could find a short course, online maybe, to help me learn and practice. Maybe have a look at classes offered via your local college, library, community centre or university? There's also a website called Future Learn which does dozens of free, online short courses, often run in conjunction with universities. Definitely check them out.

I'm sure there will be more posters along with other ideas to help.

Best of luck!

Do you not have your iTunes on your laptop as well? Maybe under applications? You should just be able to log in.

I always find google very useful! Support.Microsoft.com is helpful for questions - I would literally type in something like 'how do I insert an audio clip to a PowerPoint' to google and it gives you instructions.

Good luck :)

Thanks both. I have logged into my iTunes on my iMac but only a small portion of my music is there from years ago. All the stuff which I recently downloaded onto my iPad is not there 🤷‍♀️

Things I’m sure others would find simple just seem to take me forever! 🤣

It's going to be easier if you are shown in real life. Can you ask on your local Facebook page if someone can come and help if you pay them?
