Free Robolox?

Got my friends nine year old twins staying for a few days.

I've only heard of Robolox on here - one has just run in excitedly to say he's been given 10 million from a stranger who he's now added as a friend.

I'm sure I've seen people complaining about the cost of this game on here. I tried asking the boys how much it would cost to buy and they say £1,000 which I'm assuming is an exaggeration.

I asked if they've been asked for anything in return and they say no.

Aibu to say this sounds dodgy? Anyone know why they might have been sent this?

Get the twin to unfriend immediately and turn off game for a bit

Roblox doesn’t cost anything, it’s a free computer game program.
You can buy robux which cost actual real money, but you cannot transfer it from one person to another.
I would not be allowing them to friend a random on the internet. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, just say they can’t play that game at your house.

Never mind the money or whatever, they friended someone they don't know. They are 9. Switch the game off and alert their parent(s).

My kids are not allowed to befriend anyone on any game that they do not know in real life and no adults even if they know them in real life!
I think 10 million robuxs would cost more than £1000!!!

Contact the customer care department of roblox.
Are you sure there isn't a debit card linked to account he could have bought them.
Get his parents to use the registered email to contact roblox.

Players/YouTubers can give away roblox money it rarely if never happens.

Lauren1983 · 15/08/2021 12:11

You need to check they haven't clicked any dodgy links. Scammers often promise free robux (that's what they call money on there) if you click on their link that gives them your details or they ask for your password and promise to put robux into the account.

For comparison I sometimes buy my daughter a £10 Roblox gift card from Amazon and this equates to 800 robux.

Thanks for replies. I'm getting my little one down for a nap now but will be get them to unfriend and get off the game now. Shock

Did he pay for them himself on a card linked.

BlueLobelia · 16/08/2021 09:42

what everyone else said!

My DS loved roblox but the card linked to it is mine and I have to approve every purchase. People do not give away robux like that, it sounds like a scam, or someone highly unsavoury trying to gain access to the child / find out info.
