To think many people judge too easily

I work 2 different jobs, through choice. I have my main job that I do around 3/4 of the time and another job I do 2 days a week usually.
I enjoy the variety of this, I like both careers and feel that I have the best of both worlds.
However it seems that people don’t understand it or even look down on it.

I’ve been asked when I’m going to get a ‘permanent job’, had one lady tell me that she hoped I’d eventually decide which career path I wanted to go down, people ask why I’m doing the extra job, is it because the first one doesn’t pay enough etc. All sorts.

It’s surely not that uncommon and because one job is through an agency, some people don’t see it as a ‘serious’ or real job. I mean who cares what they think, people judge you on absolutely everything but I feel like sometimes they can’t understand something that’s not the traditional setup. Anyone else ever had this sort of stuff?

Some people judge far too easily; it’s their problem not yours. Do what you do.

I Carter changed from very well paid career to ... well, to a badly paid job.

Because I like current job and wanted to do it, and because if Ive enough money then I don’t need more.

It’s staggering how people pisgeon hole and judge.

Yeah people really do pigeon hole, I just think they lack imagination sometimes and can’t possibly fathom that a situation might be different to their own.

You’re hanging out with the wrong people. Half the people I know are musicians, artists or writers, and pretty much all of them do a combination of performing, selling work, teaching etc.

I probably am yes. I even do the odd shift in other places if I’m free and want extra money. All the people I know from school have mainly been in the same steady career since graduating 9 years ago and have a totally different situation to mine but that’s their choice.

Some people really don't understand others, or even try, so they just make assumptions and judgements based on their own opinion.

The answer to this is 'I don't feel the need to explain', or 'it works for me'.
