I just want friendship...that's all.

I don't need your constant comparison of your little darlings to mine.

I don't need to know how much your joint income is.

I don't need to know how much is left of your mortgage.

I think I need new 'friends'.

I realise this is a rant. Sorry X

Yeah, I got rid of one like that. They're very annoying. Sly digs are another behaviour I can't stand.

LunaTheCat · 14/08/2021 01:00

You need to go and find a new tribe! They are there.

CommanderBurnham · 14/08/2021 01:03

Yup definitely find new friends. It's so tiring.

DS is starting an indie secondary school on Sept and I'm dreading those types.

DramaAlpaca · 14/08/2021 01:04

Nope, you don't need that in your life Flowers

I “used” to have a friend like that and she was so bloody annoying always going on about her new house and kids private school and not seeing her husband much.It was non stop moaning and whenever you went to her house you would be dying of thirst and hunger and in the end I would be the one making the coffee and usually ordering a pizza.
And when we went out with the kids for a day out, I used to have to tell her it was her turn to buy drinks/ ice cream etc 🙁

I decided that enough was enough and the rest is history.

Interestingly we have a few acquaintances like this. Since dh has been down on his luck job wise they have all fucked off. Good riddance I say

Decoqueen · 14/08/2021 14:05

OMG people are so shallow. It says far more about them than you and your bad luck.

Urghh they sound awful.

You're absolutely right. I really do.

I sometimes feel like I'm the only person who genuinely wishes people well without the need to compete.

When people I know achieve what they want to achieve, I really am happy for them. I don't feel jealous really. It just inspires me.

I’m having the same problems! Can’t offer any advice but I completely understand what you are going through. Hard to meet decent friends these days x
