We are due to return to office in September and work have given each team a budget for an introductory day to familiarise with the new layout, procedures and have some food and drink as a treat.

I’m quite nervous about the return and getting to grips with the new tech so would appreciate this.

However my team has elected to go when I’m on holiday. When I said I would prefer not to miss I was told with a chuckle “you know where the office is” and if older people can grasp the tech then I will be fine.

can you link in with a different team for their "welcome back" day?
You don't say how big the team is, but maybe it's hard to juggle all annual leave/part time workers and still have the day close to when you start back.

Either link in with a different team or ask to book some time with someone who was there, so that they can make sure you're up to speed.

Christ. I am so trying not to be horrid but what??

Ok, I’m horrid. I’ve never really dread anything so privileged or self absorbed.?

Never read, sorry

So they should work around your holiday? Is this a joke?

Thanks all! That was just the kick in the mardy pants I needed and exactly why I come here.
