GCSE Results

I have no experience of private schools or grammars. I wanted to ask Mumsnetters about GCSE results at these schools where the students are carefully selected by the school and presumably are pushed to study hard.

AIBU to think that these students get all 9’s (or almost) for GCSE’s?
(this is an honest question)

The statistic I saw yesterday was grammar 68.4% and private 61.2% - 7 or above. So definitely not all 9s.
TBH I was surprised grammar wasn’t higher. My DC is at grammar going into yr 11 it’s not super selective and below a 7 is seen as not acceptable.
