A question about when countries will properly open up to tourism

We are thinking about taking DC out of school for a few weeks and travelling/volunteering in SE Asia Feb/March next year.

Am I being totally unrealistic in thinking countries like Thailand and Vietnam will be open to tourism without quarantine by then?

Your guess is as good as mine. Only bet what you can afford to lose, and don't grizzle if the dice go against you.

Yeah I think that's unlikely.

Yes, you most likely are. Our case numbers will most likely rise over winter aswell so other countries may be even more likely to not let us in.

I really don’t know. Some countries are open with varying restrictions. So for example I believe Sri Lanka will accept fully vaccinated adults providing you quarantine for 24 hours on arrival, awaiting a negative result to a PCR. Children must test on day 1 and day 7.

However I know in some places voluntary organisations like orphanages have closed all together during Covid to protect those living there.
