Has anyone ever been 11-20 or over on the housing list and won the bid?

I think if you're 11-20 its unlikely but not impossible to win the bid. I think all those people a head of you will need to turn down the property for you to win?

I think it’s important to remember there’s a chain, so the people ahead may be offered something else they bid on and wanted more. I ended up in the first house I bid on and I’d came 9th. I used to think each week those other houses had someone in but that isn’t the case, you can be offered one you forgot all about. Happened in my case. I love my house, great rural location outstanding local school. I’ve lucked out in many ways. Hope to buy my house when my situation changes. Hope that helps.

I got a driveway for 2 cars, really good sized garden. It was fitted with new kitchen, (in in the process of updating the bathroom) so things can go very well.

If you’ve only just got on the list and you’re coming 11th that isn’t bad, hopefully you won’t be waiting long. It took 2 months and I had a proper east Midlands .

I don't think it's always a true reflection of where you actually are on the list. Thought I had no chance I came about 8th but in reality I must have come 1st as the day after the bidding cycle ended I got a letter offering me my house. Peoples circumstances change over time so some may no longer be eligible for housing because of debts etc or they moved into private rent so that can move you up the list. I'm in the East midlands.

Yes we were 14th on the list. This was October last year though.
