My neighbour is walking their cat on a bloody lead! Bit odd, but not rant worthy I'll agree.

What's driving me a bit potty is that I'm in a ground floor flat and she's walking the bastard thing right up to my back door and bedroom window in the communal garden.

Probably not rage worthy, but certainly annoying! Dog owners don't do this, so what makes her feel like she's entitled to? She doesn't clean up the shite either.

She hasn't got the message through me passive aggressively slamming the windows and doors shut every time she goes past, so the only reasonable solution now is to move!

Bloody hell, she's walking her own cat (which is probably an indoor cat) in the communal garden where she lives too?

If you don't like a communal garden, then yes, move and buy your own.

If she's not cleaning up the shite, that's gross (but to be honest, it probably craps in an indoor litter tray, as most indoor cats do). And as for passively aggressively slamming the windows and doors, you're sounding like the twat here.

Well walking it is a huge improvement on most cat owners at least she's keeping it from harming wildlife and itself under the wheels of someone's 4x4.

She needs to clear the shit up though. Offer her emergency poo bags as she "forgot" cheeky mare

For your benefit, as it clearly wasn't obvious enough... The post is tongue in cheek, I'm well aware I'm getting worked up over nothing.

My gripe is primarily the shit, but also it's a fairly large garden so no need to be right outside my backdoor... So close she could join us at the table for tea, and my bedroom window (joke will be on her when she sees me in my undercrackers though)

No objection to her using the rest of the garden

I can understand why you're feline annoyed.

Dollywilde · 12/08/2021 20:17

Nah I get it. I lived in a house with a communal garden. One of the neighbours used to sit right by my kitchen window every nice evening. He had the whole garden, but noooo, he had to sit right by my bloody window. Drove me bananas.

It's a right catastrophe Wink

We walk our cat on a lead (as I don't allow him to go outside otherwise as he's pedigree and I worry he'd get nicked) and on the many, many walks we've been on... not once has he peed or pooped. Cats can be very particular. They're also very private and taking a shit whilst on a lead seems unlikely. Are you sure it's cat poo from THAT cat? Have you actually seen it poop and the owner just stand and watch it?

I've just seen it curl one out right outside my back door, in a lovely location for me to step in when I hang the washing out tomorrow.

WIBU to bag it up and leave it on her doorstep?

Hopefully you're not yet catatonic (!) and can leave the window open and shout 'hoi! you forgot your shit!' next time you see it happen. Why would you watch it and say nothing?

I'd love to walk my cat on a lead. I once tried it. Did not go well, nor beyond the sofa on which I tried said leashing.

I was busy loading the dishwasher and just assumed she'd pick it up (you know, like a normal person). When I popped my head back up she was gone, but the steaming turd wasn't!

I'm ready for her next time

Just tell her to cut the crap and get it picked up. Otherwise a lawn full of crap will be a catastrophe.
