To forget a foreign holiday now..

We have twice rescheduled a holiday with Tui when they have cancelled on us.

Due to go to Greece for a week in October and again this evening we’ve had the dreaded cancellation email.

Each time we’ve lost the travel insurance that we’ve booked.

They’ve offered us a 20% incentive to rebook but I just cannot be bothered now, in some way it’s a relief as the testing was a PITA and there’s always the risk it could go wrong and we’d test positive somewhere in the process.

I’ve just hit the cancel and refund button but DH is not happy and thinks we should have just rebooked again for a few weeks time rather than go in October, out of season as it’s less likely to be cancelled.

He’s gone to bed in a huff as he says I’ve been too hasty to cancel - it’s ok for him, I’d have been the one sorting all the testing packages out etc and I’m tired of it all, I just can’t be bothered now.

In my experience most of Greece close end October, so no restaurants etc.

Stick to your guns. I felt a huge sigh of relief at just fully cancelling my holidays and TUI were excellent at refunding etc so I didn't have the stress of future cancellations on a future deferred trip.

We've not booked anything for the time being and DC are constantly out with friends as most people aren't really travelling so they're happy at least.

I’ve just cancelled my booking which id put off a couple of times.

I couldn't be bothered with all the booking/cancelling/testing/rebooking right now.
If your DH wants to go somewhere, leave it to him to book, organise the tests and so on, stop doing it all yourself. He'll soon get fed up with it all.

Greece have massive fires raging at the moment! Wouldn’t be in a hurry to go.

That said it early don’t blame you, people rarely realize the amount of organization that goes into planning a trip.

Maybe let him organize the next one? That includes everything.

Ask him about back up plans if you test positive whilst away! Or if you have to quarantine or fly back early in a panic?

Too much stress at the moment!
