Gulliver's World

Sorry for posting here but I'm not sure where would be the best place.
I'm thinking of visiting Gulliver's World at Warrington and I'm hoping for tips from anyone who has been before as it's our first time. Food is my main concern really. Is the food good and reasonably priced or crap and a rip off and I'm better off taking a picnic? What rides are the best. Dc are over 110cm and can go in most things I think. I might be more excited about it than them.

We have been a few times - food isn't great over priced not keen ourselves so we always take picnics plenty of places to have picnics - they do sell costa coffee at normal prices...
rides wooden rollercoaster always have a q but it's probs best ride there.... we always do the water rides first

Its quite a few years since we went, i think the food was a bit crap as i recall

Ooh I bloody love Gulliver's 😂 Definitely take a picnic though. Food is bog standard and overpriced. You can stash your stuff in a locker (there's a room on the right just after you come through entrance bit) but it does cost a fair bit. Think they're about £8 for the day- take change!

Definitely take a picnic, the food is overpriced and decidedly mediocre. I had a cup of tea there that was actually like a tea/hot chocolate hybrid, so grim!

We've taken DS there quite a few times and he's always enjoyed it. There's a wide range of rides from quite tame to rollercoaster exciting, so there's bound to be plenty that your dc (and you...) will like. There are playgrounds with fun equipment in too, and an area with "moon buggies", little pedal vehicles controlled with levers on a road layout. It's always popular with kids, even though it's quite low tech.

I hope when you go the weather is kind and you all have a lovely time.

Cripes, best get up early and do sandwiches and stuff. I love water rides! Ds has never been to a theme park and he's the perfect age for it. I'm quite excited!

Its warrington depending on how long you are planning to be there maybe you could eat before and after?
I vaguely remember they had a small water well i wouldnt call it a park but play area in the price when i went (no idea if this is still open?)

Take a picnic! Its been pissing down both times we've been and it looks pretty much the same as when I last went nearly 30 years ago... but we've still always had a great day and my little girl is constantly asking to go back.

We went last week. It was ridiculously busy and we were queuing for an hour for some of the rides. It's no Alton Towers and the rides are NOT worth a 60 minute wait. Angry. The kids liked it though.

We've always taken a picnic and go to the Maccies on Gemini on the way home. I can never be bothered queuing ages for food as well as rides.

Yoi will get soaked on the water ride that's called something like Apache Falls. When you get there, go and get straight in the queue for the Antelope if your lids are big enough for it. It says it doesn't open until 11.30am, but it always actually opens before then. My kids love dinosaurs and like the Jurrasic Park bit.

I went to the Milton Keynes one last week! We ended up buying food because the picnic did not get made in the morning thanks to a crap alarm situation 😂 I didn't think it was that awful, bog standard theme park stuff burgers and hot dogs type thing and we couldn't really see the difference between a kids portion and an adult one (so maybe save yourself some pennies there and go for kids portions all round) but it filled a hole and I didn't think was horribly expensive. But my standards for places like that aren't enormously high because I'm usually there on my own and carrying a picnic is a pita. However my child free friend who was with me that day also agreed she felt it was a good price for what it was.

Can't comment on rides because I assume Milton Keynes is different to Warrington but it is great for my two, 5 and 7, queues aren't too horrible except for the 'big' rides and even then compared to somewhere like Alton Towers it's a laughably small wait. Although try telling my 5 year old that who declared he'd rather not go on the ride than have to wait for it at all so he's in for a shock when we do graduate to the 'grown up' theme parks!

It was a great day out, we managed to walk round a couple of times because it's designed for little legs so got to go on everything we wanted to and I'm guessing that ethos is the same for Warrington as well. Have fun!

We went to Gullivers at MK, when our DS’ were very little got there for rope drop and saw the opening ceremony, which was hilarious, as the mice started to sing “Consider yourself” from Oliver, one of DS’ absolutely favourite films, out came his thumb, and he started to join in the only problem was, rather than singing consider yourself, he sung conshitter yourselves one of us!

I love Gullivers at Milton Keynes! We used to go all the time, there’s a good choice of rides, the queues were always short and there was a nice all you can eat pizza and pasta restaurant (which might not still be there admittedly). Sorry this is probably not helping you with the Warrington one but if it’s anything like the MK one you’ll have a fab day!

IKEA is only 5 mins drive. You could go there afterwards for some meatballs from the cafe afterwards if you dont want to pay over priced fast food at the park!

Wow that was a long but fun day. We left at 7.30 this morning and got in the door at 9.45 tonight. Ds didn't want to go on anything as was scared but I was mean and made him try things. There were lots of things not open: the Antelope wasn't running until 12.30, the caterpillar was kaput, the boats were marooned in the harbour, the Lost World had lost its watch and was late opening, the Jurassic jeeps were closed due to an escaped dinosaur, the Grand Prix had a puncture, hardly any signs for the entrance to rides, huge queues for the pirate ships (over an hour wait so we gave up), the antelope once opened had about a 45-60 minute wait, the Togo falls or whatever had a wait of about 45 minutes as did the log flume. We went straight to Apache falls and I loved that but was absolutely soaked. Ds enjoyed the haunted house and Dd went on the antelope twice. The Pteradon was fun, ds liked that, but he cried on the spinny round thing next to the pirate ship.
Our picnic was great and we didn't need to buy any food there so I've no idea what the food was like. Nothing beats a squashed-at-the-bottom-of-the-bag marmalade sandwich!
We had a good time but it looked old and in need of updating as it looked tired and a little run down. The rides are really short for such a long wait. The loos were plentiful but not very nice. It was easy to get to on public transport, lots of great staff about who were needed for directions, and we'd go again but maybe not in the summer holidays. I'm glad we didn't pay full price-I used KidsPass. Avoid if you're worried about covid-it was a free for all with the queuing and packed like sardines. There were signs asking people to wear masks when queuing inside but hardly anyone did.

This was an amazing place when our children were young! Go when it's not busy and they let you go round and round on the rides. Our toddler stayed on a caterpillar "roller coaster" for about 15 goes. It goes through an apple, the excitement!
Definitely take a picnic + thermos, definitely take waterproofs and warm clothes, and definitely go ready for a wonderful day.

It's a theme park, not a fairground.

You just pay the door price. Obviously food isn't included, and any games / side stalls where you can win a prize e.g. shooting gallery are paid events.
