Two weeks ago I posted a parcel to my son for his birthday. It was well wrapped and correctly labelled, took it to the Post Office and with the gifts and two cards inside and 1st Class postage it came to a value of about £35. Nothing irreplaceable so I didnt register it. I lost the proof of posting - annoying as I always keep them!
I have been going around in circles with the Royal Mail online complaints. I know I can't claim compensation but there doesn't seem to be any protocol for lost property nor an interest in looking for it. Does anyone have insider knowledge about what happens to such items? What do they do with it? How easy is it to steal a box if you work for the Royal Mail?
AIBU to think that somewhere there should be a storage area for undelivered mail where you could check. There has been talk recently about Amazon detroying returned parcels because it takes too long to process them. Is this what happens at the Royal Mail?
