Fitness trackers

I need a new one, but I don't want one that I have to wear on my wrist as I already have a very nice watch on one arm and a medical alert bracelet on the other. Plus I just don't believe they can work properly- it's of no practical use to find it tells me I've walked 10,000 steps when I actually spent a day knitting.

Sadly I can't find one that isn't designed like a wrist watch, so would it work to wear it on a belt round my waist or in a small fabric bag round my neck or strapped to my ankle or something? And if so does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable but not too expensive model? After 3 different Fitbit products have failed to maintain the ability to communicate with my laptop or phone, I'm not really keen on buying anything made by them.

Sounds like you need a basic pedometer not a fitness health tracker. Not sure what's good/reliable in that field, I love my fitbit personally.

If you just want a step counter use your phone? If you want it to do more it probably needs to be on your wrist so it can monitor your vitals

I have a pedometer but it's a bit big and doesn't have any function to store daily data, only the day I'm in.

I don't have my phone about my person all the time and being female very few of my clothes have pockets in them even if I wanted to carry it about with me. (Don't get me started on the unfairness of pockets in men's clothing versus lack of them for females!)

I know you said not fitbit, but I have the fitbit inspire hr, it fits into a clip which you can clip to centre of bra , or pocket or whatever. I prefer it as no watches allowed at work, but as its central it's just steps not hair brushing etc Hmm

I guessing there must be a similar model from a competitor?

Have you had any issues with it not updating with your laptop or phone? I've had the zip and an earlier model and both of them just randomly stopped and the customer service was useless.

Have a look at Bellabeat leaf - can be worn as a necklace

Take a look at Bella beat. They also have a bit of a sale on at the moment :)

I generally havnt had a problem with the inspire hr but yeah, I struggles with the zip a bit. Having to change the battery constantly annoyed me. This one has a charging cradle
