Fire alarm

In my new build flat building I’ve lived here since November the fire alarm has gone off twice between 8-9.03 each time I’ve grabbed my keys slippers and stood outside until it goes off normally about 10-15 minutes later it stops. Only a handful of residents leave there flats, this evening I saw Someone look out the window and sit back down while the alarm was going off. my neighbours never leave while it’s going off and then later in the evening I hear them leave to go out. Surely you leave incase it’s a real fire?

Last time this lady came down and said do we know if it’s a real alarm otherwise I’ll go get my kids I mean who leaves there kids while the fire alarm is going off

When I lived in a tall block (20 floors) we were told not to go out. The first time I did, and a fireman actually told me I should've stayed in, and it was my fault I was standing out in my slippers. But this was a decade ago.

Look at the fire info for your block - should be posted on every level. What does it say to do in the event of a fire alarm? I can understand that a single alarm going maybe doesn't warrant a full evacuation. But after Grenfell you can't be too careful.

We only are 3 stories high and I live by the fire exit so to me leaving seems sensible would rather leave in the 2 seconds it takes me than stay and not be able to leave
