Apparently, Brian May stated on instagram live that a sequel might be in the works despite last year saying they didn't think there was enough for a second movie.

When Sacha Baron-Cohen had said they had fallen out because Brian wanted the movie to focus on Queen as a whole and not just Freddie (so Freddie dying half way through and the band going from strength to strength) Brian denied it and called him an arse.
I liked Rami Malek and the film was correct to finish at Live Aid. But as many said at the time, the film was very much whitewashed in terms of Freddie's joie de vivre and personal life (which SBC had wanted to focus on more).
Unless the film helps awareness of AIDS like Years and Years did, then not sure a sequel is going to bring much. I loved the innuendo album and Show must go on still brings me to tears.
But not sure 85-91 has enough, if they were to finish on the concert for Aids with someone playing George Michael. And if they were to do further e.g. ending with Brian May on the roof of Buckingham Palace or showing Adam Lambert doing the tribute band shtick (and I like Adam Lambert, it's not personal) I think it likely most will want to eye-roll or think it an ego exercise/cashing in/milking it now.
What do the Queen fans among you think?
