Would you go to a&e for this .. I’m having severe back and low down stomach and groin pain right now. Been going on for months Docters unsure what it is, no kidney infection had a kidney scan. Blood tests fine. I do have an inflamed cervix so have been referred to colposcopy but no appointment yet. I can hardly eat as I’m so bloated and full up with pressure. Back and groin pain is worse with urination. Right now it feels worse than ever and I’m crying and don’t know what to do.

yes, wishing you the best

Thanks everyone, I went to a&e. Cried when docter examined and felt my stomach, but my bloods were all normal and urine test so they said there’s nothing they can do apart from offer painkillers. Also said colonoscopy are more knowledgeable than them so to wait for the appointment. I just wish I knew what was wrong it’s so worrying.

I’d go to a and e. I wouldn’t bother with 111 - you’ll be waiting all night and they will tell you to go to a and e. Hope you’re feeling better soon x

cheesecrackerz · 09/08/2021 22:34

Poor you. I hope the painkillers help and you can get some sleep tonight

Please call your GP in the morning. With your symptoms, I think they should be referring you to a gynaecologist on the 2 week wait pathway

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2021 22:37

Did they not even scan you ? Sounds awful OP, I hope you get proper investigation.

Scan her for what precisely?

Littlepaws18 · 09/08/2021 22:49

Ring 111 and take advice from them, they will also book you into a and e if you need to go. (Due to Covid my local a and e will not take in walk in patients without being pre booked- crazy I know!) x my partner has something similar to what you describe, flares up at night, pain is indescribable, but no doctor can seem to get to the bottom of it. It's horrible and chronic and the pain relief he has been prescribed doesn't always touch it. So complete feel for you x

rainyskylight · 09/08/2021 22:50

Please don’t be offended by this question, but could it be IBS? Before I was diagnosed I had two trips to A.&E with recurrent prolonged pain so bad I couldn’t breathe or walk.

cheesecrackerz · 10/08/2021 08:11

@Disneycharacter cervical cancer perhaps?!?

123feraverto · 10/08/2021 08:28

Try speaking to a different GP possibly

111 sent me to a&e twice in January and February with pain in my upper gastrointestinal area , bloods were all normal and the pain episodes passed
No reason was given other than it's probably a muscular issue Hmm
The pain episodes popped up here and there again

Had a full week of pain back in June and spoke to my gp instead who suggested gallstones - just had a scan over the weekend and it is indeed gallstones
Which if they had checked in January could probably have been treated by now!

Well she will, but not via A&E - via referrals to various departments.

You mentioned an upcoming appointment for colonoscopy @Hhhh3345566 Do you also have a referral to gyne? If not I would push your GP for that too.

Disneycharacter · 10/08/2021 09:54
@Disneycharacter cervical cancer perhaps?!?
I work in A&E and never in 9 years done a cervical scan or seen one done there. It’s not a one stop shop you know.

Obviously if they think something is gynae related they will do a referral, but even then they are only looking at emergencies such a ruptured ovarian cysts. Ditto with surgical referrals. They will only do life threatening scans as emergencies but not in A&E, and it needs onward referrals to specialities.

OP needs to see the GP and ask for a more urgent referral. Pain is a worrying symptom. If she can afford private medicine it’s an option because of the hideous Covid backlog.

HealthKick2021 · 10/08/2021 15:05

How are you feeling today OP?

Hhhh3345566 · 12/08/2021 15:29

Sorry didn’t see the replies .
Thank you x
I don’t think it’s ibs as I had that for years with dirahea and cramps but pregnancy cured it for me🤷🏻‍♀️ I really hope it’s not cervical cancer , I was thinking it couldn’t be due to my clear smear last year and I’ve had no abnormal bleeding ? Prior to that I had cin1 hpv but it went away. My pain Level actually went down the last two days but today has now come back it actually feels like it’s in my cervix aswell now. Gallstones sounds awful but my pain is lower down ? Should of heard from the colposcopy by now according to my letter but they are not answering. I wish aa&e did scan me and could of done more but understand how busy they are. If only I could afford private😔

Hi. I'm a 37 year old Mum to an 8 month old. Previous to having her, I had spotting in-between periods since 2018. In 2019 I had it investigated with a smear that showed borderline changes with HPV. I then had a colposcopy which was NAD. Next smear due July 2022. I had no spotting at all whilst pregnant and I had none until Saturday there, where I've noticed some (very light). I have extreme health anxiety and I have now have myself convinced that I have cervical CA. I don't know any other reason why I would be having this spotting. Any advice to settle me, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
