Is there too much white in this dress for a wedding guest? Just looking for views, wedding is next month.

No I think that's fine.

Justrealised · 09/08/2021 13:58

For clarity I had a conversation with a friend who said any white on a guest should be avoided apart from a man's shirt.

I think it's fine, unless it's a floor length dress with a sticky-out skirt...

Stonerosie67 · 09/08/2021 13:59

Absolutely fine x

PragmaticWench · 09/08/2021 13:59

It's fine.

FayeFayeFayeFayeFaye · 09/08/2021 13:59

It’s fine, but I’m sure someone will come along to tell you it absolutely isn’t.

HadEnoughOfBears · 09/08/2021 14:00

It is absolutely fine

Justrealised · 09/08/2021 14:00

Thank you, I thought so. I just started second guessing myself and didn't want to make a mistake.

It's fine - unless you suspect the bride is wearing a floral dress

Justrealised · 09/08/2021 14:03

Haha, no she definitely isn't and she is stunning to boot.

prettyteapotsplease · 09/08/2021 14:03

It's perfectly fine and the bold pattern is cheerful.

Fifthtimelucky · 09/08/2021 14:04

I usually err on the side of caution on this sort of thing and I think the material is absolutely fine. Obviously can't tell about the style!

Elouera · 09/08/2021 14:07

Often with these threads, its a clear NO, but in this case, I'd add bright accessories in either the blue or pink from the dress and it would be fine.

Justrealised · 09/08/2021 14:12

For a better picture, I think it's ok. Definitely not mistaken for a brides dress. Just incase a better picture:-

Your friend is nuts!!!
That dress is fine, no danger of being mistaken for the bride

I think people have lost the plot over "no white to weddings".

The whole point is not to wear anything "bridal" (in any colour).

Karatema · 09/08/2021 14:13

Definitely fine 😀

Justrealised · 09/08/2021 14:14

Thank you all, I needed that reassurance.

I was always taught if you squint/blurr your vision and it doesnt look white then you are ok.
Interesting some dresses there are very light mint, lemon, blush etc fail that but yours definitely passes

Chiantina · 09/08/2021 14:18

I'm a traditionalist who wouldn't wear white to someone else's wedding, but I think this dress is fine because it's such a bold colourful pattern. Clearly not 'bridal' in any way.

Accessorize it with something pink or blue and nobody will think twice about it being white.

nancydroo · 09/08/2021 14:18

I like it. Not sure where to get wedding guest clothes now Debenhams has closed. They used to have a good section

atlastifoundit · 09/08/2021 14:30

Nice, and they style isn't remotely 'bridesmaidy' either.

M0rT · 09/08/2021 15:28

It looks like it was designed with wedding guest/day at the races/garden party in mind to me!

Hopdathelf · 09/08/2021 15:49

That’s definitely fine. No one will mistake you for a bride or a bridesmaid.

RuthW · 09/08/2021 15:52

Perfect. Just make sure your fascinator and buttonhole aren't white. Go with a brighter colour.

TrueGrit54 · 09/08/2021 15:54

Yes, lovely colourful dress for a wedding.
