AIBU to think a hotel exists which combines (affordable) luxury and good kids clubs

Looking at booking for august 2022. Preference is AI in canaries, Balearics or Greece but would look at other options.
We will have a 5 year old who loves “getting involved”, so we need a good kids club, whilst I love luxury.
Travel agent is pushing Bahia Fantasia in Tenerife but not sure how “luxury” it is.
We can’t afford Sani /Ikos so wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
I'm really not a "get up at 5am to put my towel on the sun bed" type of person Wink

Martinhal in Portugal?

Beehappy21 · 09/08/2021 12:49

Have you looked at Cost Adeje Gran, in Tenerife? Its 5 star too, but sunbed reserving is banned 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️ they have someone walking around in a morning to remove any towels which have been reserved. Kids clubs are good too! They always have something going on and mine love it!

Capo Bay Protatas, luxury, fabulous Balearic style beach bar & fantastic kids clubs. I cannot recommend highly enough

Ooh take a look at DB Seabank in Malta.
Its has kids clubs, daily activities for both adults & kids, a spa, indoor and outdoor pool etc. All inclusive!

We loved it there and would defo go back.

Take a look at the Zafiro chain in Majorca/Menorca.

BitchIAmFromChicago · 09/08/2021 13:08

Ooh we’re booked in at the DB seabank next year! Glad to see it’s had a recommendation!

We did this a few years ago and it was good value for money

Make sure you get a Maro suite and not one of the cheaper/smaller rooms

Look at the gf Victoria in Tenerife. It's a great hotel and my children loved the kids clubs.

SirScallyWagsWife · 09/08/2021 13:22

@BitchIAmFromChicago Oh yes we loved it. Make sure the first day you get there book in at the restaurants on the computers in the lobby. They fill up fast.

We went just after Christmas a couple of years back and stayed over new year so probably not as busy as during the hotter months. But we loved it. :-)

The best childcare I ever had, on any holiday was cruising … sessions in the morning and afternoon, their own big room, with “paddling pool”, twice they came to get then from the cabin for breakfast, they had a movie night, one night they all went out to eat and then went to the show together, they had treasure hunts, autographs hunts, tours of the ship.
So I could head to the spa, or we could have dinner on our own … happy days ! (And each child was guaranteed a place)

Hi OP- May I ask where you ended up going for your holiday?

We will be in same position next year, and want to get an idea on what's out there.

We want a good kids club to keep DS4 busy, whilst we have some (luxury but affordable) R&R.

With an only child, we find it challenging to relax if self catering.

Also interested in knowing 👍

Hi, Firstly apologies to everyone who posted as I didn't thank you all for your help, for some reason I missed the updates.
I haven't booked yet (i was looking for next year) but it's on my to do list ASAP
The suggested places look great. I've joined Facebook groups for a few hotels to get real-time reviews.
Let me know if you book anywhere interesting.
