Ryanair flight change

Has anyone managed to change a Ryanair flight recently? It looks like it should be possible but yet it won’t let me. We were going to Italy in October but want to wait.

I had a super cheap flight booked for tomorrow, domestic, but it's actually turned out more convenient for me to go by train. I thought I'd swap the 'no fees change" flight to later in the year, or a different route. Cue hollow laughter.
You can't change domestic for international, though you can change (say) domestic Spain to domestic Italy. Etc. I played around on the website and it would let me do that, so I found two similarly priced flights for the end of next summer. Clicked through to final stage and would have paid £187.
Seemingly you can change, but "no change fees" doesn't quite mean what it appears to. There was a long article in Which? as well saying people who had already paid for hold luggage etc had to pay again.

I should have realised it wouldn’t be as straightforward as it claims. I’m annoyed about having to pay again for luggage etc.

Meant to clarify, the £187 was what I'd have had to pay on top of the original tickets despite the actual flights costing €10-12 euro more. Shock
