My tooth is even worse after the dentist?

I missed a a dentist appointment a few weeks ago for a filling on a tooth that had crumbled a good chunk off.

Whilst waiting for the new appointment I had developed a toothache so got an emergency app today. The dentist did not want to take it out as it could crumble as she was removing it and she didn't want to risk it so referred me to local dental hospital/specialist for it. In the meantime she said she will do some root canal and a temporary dressing? I had to be numbed up twice as it was quite tender at one point. Now all the numbing is starting to wear off and oh my days its even more painful than the tooth originally was 😩😩 is this normal?

Ouch i feel your pain, root canal treatment is sooo painful, in fact i had a tooth pulled because i didn't want to go through it again.
When is your hospital appointment??
Can you take cocadmol for the pain?

She referred me today and did say there is a considerable waiting list so she will treat it for now to stop the pain.... But it's made it worse.

When I had a root canal it hurt like a beast for a couple of days afterwards.

I got referred for a tooth out when I went on 2nd November. Still waiting and haven’t heard a thing. Had to see dentist again mid June due to the tooth breaking off and leaving a sharp bit and he said he’d chase it up but still waiting.

I think it took around 3 weeks for my tooth to settle after a root canal. I took ibuprofen and co-codamol for about a week.

I wouldn't ever have it done again......... tooth will come out!
