To consider an MA in early childhood studies and early years?

I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology.
I really would like to work with children and families/family support or in children’s mental health.
Has anyone done an MA in early childhood studies? What kind of career would it possibly lead to?

My understanding that an MA in early childhood studies is for people who want to go into teaching, not into children's mental health support.

I do have a friend though who is now a social worker and works with children with mental health issues. I believe her undergrad was in English of some kind so not related.
She started off by getting a job at a SEN school and then after 6 months got a job in social services. They then paid for her to do her masters in social services. Not saying it's the only way but is a lot cheaper than doing a masters that isn't directly relevant!
