I'm losing weight and down to a size 12 in bottoms. My problem is that my top half is still wide and I don't know if this will ever change or if it's just the way I'm built.
It wouldn't bother me but I bought two dresses for a wedding (12 and a 14) and neither zip up to the top at the side past the bottom of my rib cage. It annoys me as they look so good and wouldn't look fitted if I buy the next size up. If I wear my old size 18 dresses there is too much material on the bottom part.
My query is do I keep the dresses in the hope that losing more weight might make them fit or is it my rib cage/ bust which won't ever change? I still feel like I look big in photos due to my wide back and broad shoulders and I'm only 5 foot so don't look Amazonian at all.
Anyone else have similar body shape? Feel like I will have to wear mumsy style wrap dresses forever!

I have broad shoulders and big boobs. Boobs might go down a bit if I loose weight, but generally, my top half is a good size larger than my bottom half.

I don’t think you can change your shoulder width. I’ve got broad shoulders and big boobs and am also quite short. Always at least a size bigger on top. Do you have time to trade them in for a bigger size and get them altered so they fit nice on your waist and hips?

Yes. I lost 4 stone and went to get measured for new bras. Still same back size 😭

I have the same issue. I'm a size 10 on my bottom half and a 14-16 on top due to my bust (42") I buy most of my clothes from bravissimo/pepperberry and wear mainly dresses as I can easily take in the bottom half.

Thanks everyone, I hadn't thought about getting the larger dresses taken in!

I'm wide shouldered, and dresses with a side zip rarely fit me. I don't buy anything with an under bust seam, but a princess seam in the same size will fit great. A seamstress will def be able to fit the dress to you

I'm a g cup and find it very hard to get anything which genuinely.fits top and bottom. Lots of things seem better suited to small boobed women (up to about c cup). I do shrink when I lose weight but it's back fat rather than boob size. Have you tried bravissimo? They do clothes as well as bras.

Totally agree with getting alterations on the dresses you want. They will look great. I have often done this (not that I've bought much for myself lately)
Well done on such a fantastic loss

Well done on your amazing weightloss.
You will need to experiment with lots of different materials and cuts, as your shape will have changed. I recently went down from a size 18 to a size 12 and found that I had to change my style.
Try adjustable wrap dresses, shirred dresses, matching tops and skirts which look like a dress when you are wearing but are separate pieces so you can get bottom in one size and top in a different size (they are called co-ords in fashion speak). I agree with the suggestion of buying a bigger size and get it taken in. This will look fab as it is bespoke to your measurements.

Same here. Top half is a 14, bottom half can be a 10. Kinda goes with the territory, big boobs need big shoulders to support them lol

I like wearing shirts but I have to get them sewn up at the buttons or else they gape.
