Urgent Doncaster question

I have 30 mins to change trains at Doncaster, and could do with popping to an off license or supermarket... can anyone who knows the area tell me of there is one close enough to the train station please?

I haven't used Donny station since before the pandemic, so I may be wrong, but I don't think that there is. Although you are right next to the Frenchgate shopping centre, that's all food courts and newsagents closest to the station. Hope someone else will come along with more recent local knowledge.

There's a sainsbury's just across the road from the train station.
You go out of the station, over the pelican crossing and into the French gate centre and sainsbury's is on the right. It's a good size one as well, not a corner shop type one.

Thank you @fairgame84 - I did try Google but it looked like a massive road and I couldn't see if it was accessible on foot, didn't want to be scrambling across a dual carriage way! Thats really helpful, thank you.

I'd check before leaving the station that you're actually allowed to do so. If you're going from (say) London to York and changing at Doncaster, you might not be allowed off the platform. I might be wrong, but worth asking station staff when you're there.

Yes to Sainsburys although the Frenchgate is joined on to the station now so you don't need to leave the station to cross the road, just exit to the left of the train station and go up the escalators into the Frenchgate food court then Sainsburys is on the lower floor of the shopping centre.

(Just seen you posted an hour ago so this may be too late but hopefully you found somehwere)

I go to Doncaster station every day. They will let you off the platform no problems. There are no ticket barriers, sometimes staff at the entrance checking tickets but if you explain they will let you back in. Sainsbury's is the best bet as a pp said. Just cross road opposite the station, turn left then right into the Frenchgate before you get to the tunnel
